Greeting

I am Masayasu Suzuki, professor in University of Toyama. I’m responsible for the Chief of the Hokuriku Branch of the Electrochemical Society of Japan (ECSJ) in fiscal year 2021 and 2022.
The Hokuriku Branch of the Electrochemical Society of Japan consists of members who are active in the four prefectures of Niigata, Toyama, Ishikawa, and Fukui. Although it is a small chapter with few members, it has one of the longest histories in the Electrochemical Society, celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2020. The Hokuriku region, which is blessed with abundant water resources and electric power, has long been known for its electrochemical industry. As a result, there are many corporate engineers and researchers who have a wealth of practical expertise in electrochemistry, and the branch has been working in close cooperation with industry and academia since its establishment. Although the small size of the chapter makes it difficult to manage, we have been conducting unique activities by taking advantage of it. Especially at the Spring Meeting, researchers and engineers from industry and academia exchange serious discussions on electrochemistry. We hope that everyone from other branches will join us.
Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, we have been unable to carry out our normal activities, but we hope to resume our activities little by little in response to the With Corona era. I would like to make every effort for the further development of the Hokuriku Branch, the fostering of young researchers, and mutual friendship among the Branch members. I would like to ask for your continued support and cooperation in the future.
